This past week was one that I will remember for a long, long time.

I could write a whole book about what happened in the past 7 days so i'll try to keep it brief. The highlight of the week had to be recieving the news from my doctors that my counts were back up and that I was finished with chemotherapy. It was a bittersweet moment, on one hand I no longer had to spend all my free time at the hospital receiving treatment, getting my counts checked, and getting transfusions. Dealing with 19 (I think) surgeries and the many accompanying aches and pains I have taken my share of painkillers. Before we figured out it was a tumor in my left calf that had to be amputated I was working two jobs and going to school. the pain in my left calf was excruciating. I was taking 10-15 ibuprofen a day to deal with the pain (this went on for months) as well as Oxycontin when the pain was really bad. I knew it wasn't healthy but I had no alternative. After my knee replacement in 2007 I was in the hospital for a week with a button that would give me a small dose of morphine, I was allowed to push this button once every 30 seconds. When I was released from the hospital the doctors told me I would need to take a plethora of drugs to ween myself of my morphine addiction.  I recently moved into my own apartment, I was packing all my medical supplies and prescriptions. I found an unopened prescription of dilouded, a few bottles of percocet, Oxycontin,  and vicodin. So I've had plenty of experience with pain killers.
